Gameplay Overview

“Strange Galactic Friends” is a short cooperative action jump-n-run with a novel game concept for two players that requires skill, teamwork and coordination.

The game will be played on two different mobile devices (laptops), via a webbrowser. Game actions of both players synchronize via server, so they can be seen at both screens.

Gameplay Features

'Gravity Shift':

The game’s core mechanic involves reversing gravity leading to all moveable objects changing places. This mechanic fundamentally alters the gameplay experience, requiring players to constantly adapt to changing environments and solve puzzles that rely on gravity manipulation.

Collecting Spare Parts:

The main objective of each level is to collect spare parts for the spaceship. These are often locked behind puzzles giving the players a different challenge each level

Platforming:

Players will navigate through platforming sections.

Solving Riddles:

Various puzzles must be solved to complete a level. Clever use of the gravity feature and collaboration between players are required here.

Fighting Enemies:

Diverse types of enemies must be defeated, requiring players to utilize their unique abilities. Teamwork is essential, as certain enemies can only be defeated using the unique abilities of one character.

Revival System:

Players can revive each other using revive tokens and heal totems. This adds to the necessity of teamwork.

Gadgets:

Collectible gadgets offer unique abilities and allow players to employ various strategic approaches.

Game Flow

The players start the first level, which is a tutorial level. In this level, the two characters explore the first cave or rainforest after they crashed their spaceship onto the planet. This level guides the players by the hand, introducing them to the game mechanics and explaining the controls. A small foreign alien introduces himself as the in-game narrator.

As they search for spare parts, the players will encounter increasingly difficult challenges. They will explore new areas, collect the spreaded spaceship parts, fight various enemies and solve complex puzzles. By gathering collectibles, they will gain new skills that will support them in their mission.

The Goal

Major Dom and Moot work as a team to rebuild their crashed spaceship.
Both have to work and "think" together for collecting the spreaded spaceship parts and rebuild it in the end, to continue travelling space.
